Acceptable Use Policy
This policy describes prohibited uses of the ExportComments service. It is part of, and governed by, our Terms of Service.
Effective: January 1, 2025
1. Summary
ExportComments is built to help marketers, researchers, and creators understand public conversations on social media. Don't use it to harm people, break the law, or violate the source platform's rules.
2. Prohibited activities
You may not use the Service to:
- Export, store, or process data from private accounts or non-public posts.
- Harass, threaten, dox, or harm any person or group, including by contacting commenters individually based on extracted data.
- Build mailing lists, profile users, or sell data to third parties without a lawful basis.
- Train machine-learning models on extracted comment data in violation of the source platform's terms.
- Engage in coordinated inauthentic behavior, astroturfing, vote manipulation, or election interference.
- Promote violence, hate speech, child sexual abuse material, or any unlawful activity.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically attempt to bypass the Service's rate limits or security controls.
- Resell, sublicense, or repackage the Service without a written agreement.
- Use the Service in a way that violates GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable data protection laws.
3. Source platform terms
You are responsible for complying with the terms of service of any platform from which you export data (e.g. TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X). We provide tooling; you are the data controller and must determine your lawful basis for processing.
4. Reporting abuse
If you believe someone is using the Service in violation of this policy, report it to abuse@exportcomments.xyz. Include URLs and any evidence you have.
5. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and, at our discretion, warn, suspend, or terminate accounts. Severe or repeated violations may result in immediate termination without refund and reporting to law enforcement where appropriate.
6. Changes
We may update this policy as new abuse patterns emerge. The "Effective" date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision.
